Where to purchase a 6 volt Optima Battery

I had the screw-type disconnect on my car when I first bought it. Starting problems were traced to a crack in it.

I live in Mission Viejo. My red top Optima is about 3 years old and isn't holding a charge. My fear is it was left on a tickler too long without giving it a good run. Do you suppose it just needs a good charge at an auto shop or do I need to find a new one and where?

Try ordering one through O'Reilly's. That's where mine is coming from. There is also one of our vendor's, Mick Michelsen of Chatham Motor Sports, that provides them.

As for your battery these are the Optima 6v AGM battery... see link below... This is the best price available as it is an item the manufacturer sets MAP pricing on and we cannot sell below this price...
Also this is the ONLY 6v AGM battery on the market... all others are just standard lead acid you are finding at the local parts shop... otherwise if same part number usually more... but if in fact less... scoop one up great battery...

Kit: I use the red top 6V. The previous one lasted b/t 7 & 8 years. Just slow to crank at first now so it's on its way out.

The pricing is in the ball park with other vendors unless you go on eBay where they are way over-priced.

Ironically, when I went to start the 356C after not running it for a month (on a trickle charger) it did not start this cool morning. I took it back to Batteries Plus where I bought it and asked them to check it. They put it on a sophisticated tester, found a bad cell and replaced the battery. The battery was purchased June of 2017.
