Looking for reputable restoration shops in Oregon/Washington

#1 Post by Richard Lee »

I have a 1956 356 Cab that I am looking to have restored. Although the car has minimal rust it will need some metal work. If you have any suggestions on a restoration shop that specializes in 356's please email me. I dont think Im looking for a concourse restoration. Looking for shops preferably on the west coast, Oregon and Washington are local to me. Its important that they are a trustworthy shop/person.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

You might try Rillos Restoration in Kent WA. He (Kirsten) mostly specializes in 356s. I had my '58 coupe done there and it couldn't be better. Never heard anything negative about his work.

Also Tom Black Portland has been mentioned. See this link by Rhys Haydon: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=41584 And Rillos fixed Black Beauty see link here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=43690&hilit=Rillos Maybe connect Rhys and Alfred for their opinions privately?

Ask Gary Emory of Parts Obsolete. If anyone knows, he does.

Plus one for Rillos. Kerstan has done several cars for me and all of them turned out great. Sent you an email with details.

Kerstan Gets my vote The work on the black car was top notch. He has a lot of work right now. Talk to him a few days ago, he has 5 356 come in for work. you need o get on the list. I have a 59 cab he is just about done with, primer this week maybe, Tried to get him to take my pre a in for a little body work. He cant take it until Dec. His shop is small and all he does is high end cars. If you do quality work you will all was be swamped. and he is
