Bob and Jeannie Ingram's 1952 Reutter Cab at Pebble Beach
The only Porsche car of any kind that was invited to appear on the show field at this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is Bob and Jeannie's beautiful Fashion Grey 1952 Reutter Cabriolet. The car was expertly restored several years ago by Cam Ingram and his team at Road Scholars. It is powered by its original 1500cc engine and it proudly wears many rare and unusual trim pieces that were unique to 1952 Reutter Cabs.
Today the Ingrams drove their car in the Tour d'Elegance on the 17 Mile Drive, along with 150+ other amazing cars that will appear on Sunday on the 18th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links. Cam was the driver, Bob rode shotgun, and Jeannie sat in the rear which proved that her enthusiasm (and patience) easily matches that of her husband and son. After the two hour tour, the car was parked for public viewing on Ocean Avenue in Carmel.
Judging by the huge attention the Ingram's stunning Pre-A 356 attracted today, it will be very well received at the Sunday Concours.
Here are some photos of the 1952 Reutter Cab in the staging area before the Tour d'Elegance began.

The Ingram's car attracted a lot of attention today from the large crowd on Ocean Avenue which viewed all the cars that participated in the Tour d'Elegance. Cam Ingram carefully watched over the Pre-A while throngs of people gathered around it, and he explained how he restored it to many the many fellow enthusiasts who asked him about it. Cam frequently used the book he wrote to document to describe the car's history and restoration.

Jeannie Ingram was a proud 356 owner on Ocean Avenue today, and Bob Ingram and Pat Collins enjoyed sharing stories while the crowds gathered around his very attractive 1952 Reutter Cab.

Chip:
Thanks for posting so many nice photos of the Ingram car and members of the family. Looks like great weather at Pebble. The Ingrams are great ambassadors for the marque and wonderful people to mingle with down here in sunny North Carolina. Cam's shop does an awesome job with the cars that come their way, whether resto, rehab, or custom. That '52 is certainly a beaute!
Cheers,

Re: Bob and Jeannie Ingram's 1952 Reutter Cab at Pebble Beac
I had the pleasure of seeing this car in person for an extended time during a PCA tour of Road Scholars and it is absolutely incredible. Bob and Jeannie are incredibly nice and generous people. I spoke with Jeannie about their Red 4 cam Carrera in the shop, and she said "it sounds great. I'll have Cam start it up for us" Incredible! And I spent a loooong time with Bob getting a personal tour of their Bali Blue 356 SC GT. he loves these cars.

Re: Bob and Jeannie Ingram's 1952 Reutter Cab at Pebble Beac
In Carmel, CA today the skies started out a bit overcast in the morning, but by noontime the sun was bright and the crowds were very large and festive at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, which many believe is the grandest vintage car event in the world.
Bob and Jeanie Ingram's beautiful 1952 Reutter Cabriolet competed in the very tough Postwar Open Class which was composed of eight cars including two amazing AC Shelby Cobras, a very strong 1958 Mercedes Benz 300 SL Roadster, a stunning 1951 Cisitalia 202 SC Vignale Cabriolet, and a fabulous 1949 Kurtis Sports car which was presented by the Kurtis Family.
The Ingram's car was the only Porsche car on the show field today and it attracted way more than its fair share of attention.
Here are some photos of the Ingram's Pre-A being judged by a five man judging team. They closely examined all aspects of the 356 and they listened intently as Cam Ingram presented the car and shared many of the details from his restoration work as well as the unique features and the interesting history of the car. The Ingram's are the third owners of the car, which they acquired in 2006 from an ad on eBay Motors. The second owner, Don Severenson from Lake Geneva, WI had owned the car for over 40 years and he had kept it very original and accident free.

Bob, Jeanie and Cam Ingram were justifiably proud of their Fashion Grey 356 which ably represented the Porsche brand all by itself today at Pebble Beach.
The car's blue interior showed off the beautiful details that Porsche built into their 1952 Cabriolets.

In the afternoon the skies cleared and the crowds swelled to the point that the 18th hole fairway was barely visible. The views of the cars and surrounding scenery were simply stunning.

After all the judging was finished, the Ingram's car was named one of the three finalists in its Postwar Open Class. The other finalists were a 1965 AC Cobra 427 Roadster and a 1951 Cisitalia.
Here is Cam Ingram smiling while he's waiting to hear which car won the Class. Bob Ingram is the passenger and Jeanie is perched in the cozy place behind the bucket seats!

Re: Bob and Jeannie Ingram's 1952 Reutter Cab at Pebble Beac
It was exciting to see the Ingram's 356 named Best in Class today! Only once before, in 2011, has a Porsche car been named Best in Class in a non-Porsche Class at Pebble Beach, when Hans Peter Porsche's 1949 Gmund Coupe took those honors back to Germany. The restorer of that car: Cam Ingram and his team at Road Scholars.
